Black Friday Hot Cocoa Extravaganza!!!

On Black Friday (really it was still Thursday – Thanksgiving) 9 Epic Churchers loaded up 4 Got Coolers with piping hot hot cocoa and roved around the city of Wichita to show a little bit of the love of Christ in a practical way… Jesus said something about giving a cup of water to someone in His name, didn’t He? It really was an awesome time! We handed out over 700 cups of hot cocoa and got to surprise a bunch of people. It was really fun to tell people who wondered, “how much?” that it was free! I love our church and am so excited about the way God is moving in the hearts and minds of His people. Even though we are existing in a uncertain time as a church, we are certainly certain of our mission as a church – to connect people to God, 1 person @ a time! That is how we are going to become the best church for our community!

I can’t wait to see what is next at Epic as we keep asking the right questions to bless our community! If you have not gotten on board yet with what Epic is doing, there is still time, simply contact us – we would love to take you out to dinner and share with you the vision for reaching people in Wichita and seeing them connect to God, 1 person @ a time!

What do you do when stuff from your past presents itself and makes you feel guilty (8/19/2012)? That was the question Kent dealt with this week as we studied 2 Chronicles 29:3-11 and looked at how Hezekiah and the priests of his day dealt with their sinful history. God is longing to use you, we just need to get to the point where we will let him. This sermon ended with a time of public confession of sin, God showed up and people came forward confessed their sins in front of one another. This is not a normal sermon – but it ended powerfully!

Something to Live for – SERIES: Consecrated (8/12/2012)

(8/12/2012) Most of us, despite our best intentions, end up living our lives going from one expectation to the next. The challenge is for us to find direction from God so we are not merely doing good things, but the best things. Kent challenged us this week from 2 Chronicles 29:1-2 to invite God to challenge us and give direction to our lives instead of simply meeting outside expectations.
